The president of the National Assembly Mihail Mikov has sent letters to the mayors of the Miziya and Byala Slatina towns in regard to the devastating floods.
“I would like you to express my sincerest sympathy and compassion to the citizens hit by this extremely hard disaster “, writes the head of the Bulgarian parliament.
“As a lawmaker from the Vidin region which recently suffered a similarly damaging flood, I know that such devastation leaves its consequences upon people’s lives for a long time. That is why the most important think at present is that state institutions, local authorities and citizens join their efforts to overcome the effects of the disaster and to work on preventing such tragedies from happening again”, the letters read further.
Mihail Mikov expressed confidence that the affected citizens are to receive timely assistance and feel they are not alone in their pain.
