    Parliament restricted gambling advertising. The texts were adopted unanimously at second reading with 198 votes in favour. MPs voted at second reading on the bill amending and supplementing the Gambling Act, submitted by Temenuzhka Petkova (GERB-UDF) and Yordan Tsonev (MRF). 

    The advertising of gambling games in radio and television programmes is prohibited, with the exception of the broadcasting of the draws of the State Enterprise "Bulgarian Sports Totalizator" and their announcement, in printed works and electronic media, including websites, on state property and municipal property and on sites that have a license issued under this law.

    It is allowed to advertise gambling games on outdoor built billboard facilities located at a distance of not less than 300 meters from educational institutions - schools, universities, kindergartens, community centres, playgrounds, school and student dormitories, as well as from sites where social services are provided to children and young people.

    Advertising of gambling games is allowed on equipment, sports facilities, sports halls, stadiums and swimming pools, materials or products of sports federations, clubs, associations and organizations, except on sports equipment, materials or products that are intended for use by minors.

    Gambling games with slot machines and in a gambling casino will be allowed to be organized only in settlements with over 10,000 inhabitants, giving operators three years to align their activities with the adopted changes. An exception will be made for national resorts and settlements located no more than 30 km from the road, rail and river border checkpoints of Bulgaria.

    Parliament extended the zero rate for bread and flour until December 31 this year. The amendment to the Value Added Tax Act was adopted in the final provisions of the amendments to the Gambling Act. The zero rate for bread and flour was to expire on 30 June this year.

    MPs voted at second reading on a bill to ratify an international agreement for Amendment No. 2 to international agreement LOA BU-D-SAB "F-16 Block 70 aircraft and associated support" under the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, submitted by the Council of Ministers.

    MPs adopted at first reading a bill amending and supplementing the Law on Political and Civil Rehabilitation of Repressed Persons. It is envisaged that there will be a pension for repressed Bulgarian citizens who, for one reason or another, have failed to acquire the right to a pension.

    The National Assembly supported the President's veto on the Law to Amend and Supplement the Investment Promotion Act, adopted by Parliament on 19 April 2024.
